ABOUT LORENALANDIA#

Lorenalandia is a multidimensional space, it exist in parallel as:

• a place inside my head, where i go to protect and restore my brain, especially after life's hardships. sometimes when that negative situations occur and friends ask me how i am i say "i'm good, i'm in lorenalandia" meaning: in this place inside my head i'm free to think, have fun, and spend time in my creations.

• a physical space, my studio, that's the room next to my bedroom. it was my father's studio, where he made wooden craft figures, fixed anything piece broken on the house, while listening to the radio. when he died i occupied that space as my own studio. a multipurpose space: it has my music equipment (instruments and recording gear), my photography equipment (lights, backgrounds, cameras), my old laptop with an os that let's me do just about what i need to use in software creatively. my library, with all my tarot reading material and decks. and....a fridge.

• a blog (https://lorenalandia.fun), made to gather my english writing (i'm a native spanish speaker) about the internet and sometimes personal stuff. just a blog, like in the old days. is a place in development in which i plan to make my own digital garden and all of this was inspired by my recent rabbit-hole-falling into the universe of the indie web. i really missed having a blog.

• the space you're in right now, the DFOS version of Lorenalandia, this is the central room for us to communicate and share our ideas about the internet, making art, and making art on the internet, hell, even the internet AS art. i want to know you, if you're here it means we surely already have something in common. who are you? what is the activity you enjoy doing the most?

ABOUT LORENA#

and who am i? after all the place is named after me. i'm Lorena Orlando, a 36y/o Venezuelan woman, artist, and thinker. my father, a music teacher and great accordeonist, tought me music in my childhood, years later, around 2003, i started composing my own songs. also around that time i inherited my father's zenit analog camera and started taking pictures, a couple of years later i started studying photography and have been constantly learning about it through a mix of schools, courses, workshops, and self-directed learning up to this day, my only and greatest academic achievement has ben a professional diploma in photography on the venezuelan photography school 'AVECOFA'. aside from that most of my time i spent it on my computer, chatting and chatting on msn messenger, building my personal webpages with dreamweaver and geocities, making lots of blog through live journal, blogger, then of course i was a myspace girlie. the rest is history and you can check out my life's andcreative timeline here.

you can see my web page for further samples of my work, i named it an anti-portfolio, where nothing is in order or hierarchy, is the mix of my creative work and my life throughout the years.
