screenshots as a personal archive & diary
AUGUST 27TH, 2026

I made a screenshot garden! here's what is all about:
The DIGITAL_IMAGE_GALLERY_GARDEN was born in my mind after the session 'Uncurated: On Screenshots as Personal Archaelogy' of The Institute of Machine Unlearning. I had explored the world of screenshot gardens before, and I thought about making my own.
After the session, while organizing and checking my screenshots in Google Photos I found that screenshots and our camera roll are intimately related. We screenshot things as a guide for something happening IRL that is recorded on our camera roll and viceversa.
Or the things that we screenshot are related
with our material world somehow.
Sometimes the coincidences are more obscure or serendipitous, but there is a direct relation in all of the elements of our digital image archive. They also serve as a diary, our screenshots tell a lot about what we're into in certain moments of our lives, and the photos we take more so. I wanted to find the relation in both of those universes: how we photograph our lives while photographing the internet at the same time.
